Day 108e: Choosing to live Within … (August 15, 2019)
I was admittedly surprised by how much I truly loved New York City. It is no small understatement to say that I am not a fan of metropolises by any means, and yet there was something about New York that captured me – maybe it was the underlying hum of Community that radiated from its multi-cultured citizenry that day or maybe it was the gracefulness of its buildings’ multi-formed architectures that brought me so much solace …
“It was a land of glorious contradictions – an almost breathtaking beauty and a screamingly savage poverty; a land of howling ghosts alongside sun-flung possibilities; a land of inviting warmth & kindness mixed with desperate drought & despair. How we see a place or country depends on how we choose to witness it as much as how we are traveling through it; on whether we are merely walking past or whether we are fully living within.” ~ inspired by Alexandra Fuller
