Day 091k: When life is more worth Living … (July 14, 2019)

Proper walking is the same as proper living: one can only learn the same if one does not imagine one knows what it consists of in advance. Walking smoothly – like living well – means always being willing to flow onto new routes when they present themselves. It is rather living well, which means being ever ready & willing to being generous or kind to fresh souls and news faces whenever they present themselves as well … Living, ideally, is a state of being in which the self, the other, and the Cosmos (or “God”) are surrounded by emotional oneness. Walking, similarly, is ideally a state in which the mind, the body, and the world are harmoniously aligned, as though they were three characters finally in affirming conversation together, three notes suddenly sounding a one-chorded triad. Walking allows us to be in our bodies and in the world without being made busy by them. It leaves us free to think without being wholly lost in our thoughts. It allows us to embrace the stranger as the Soulmate and treat potential enemies as friends. So it is that walking – when done both intentionally & well – makes life more worth living.” ~ inspired by Gunnar Decker & Rebecca Solnit
