Day 073s: To be a Soul-full Walker … (June 26, 2019)

“The soulful walker (a.k.a. a true Nature Lover) will in many cases prefer to walk alone; and not because he revels in the joy of the same, or because his solitude shows him to be self-contained, or because all his adventures and experiences combine to make him independent of all company, or because by doing so becomes aware of the greater Voice that resides in the silence. No, the soulful walker prefers to walk alone for other reasons – because to walk alone is to walk far more consciously immersed in the world around him, because to walk alone is to more deeply befriend all the non-humans one ever meets along each way, because to walk alone is to be mindful of the blessing of being alive, and because to walk alone allows one to more fluidly get to the next opportunity to selflessly Care. Yes, others might see the lone walker as some sort of loner or serious philosopher, and yet in truth these purer pilgrims are simply more in Love with life and more appreciative of the omnipresent Beauty of the world. These purposeful wanderers love the company of those they meet, no doubt, and they consider social intercourse to be primary and priceless. And yet they also love to flow and move, and when they go they go alone.” ~ inspired by Will Grant
