Day 073e: The Grand Mystery within … (June 26, 2019)

I don’t think people ever can know who they truly are. So we all have to be humble enough to live with this most mysterious of questions — Who am I? So I am ever a mystery to myself. I am ever someone who is immersed in a pilgrimage of self-rediscovery; from the moment I was born to the day when I’m going to die. And this is a truth that cannot be circumvented. Whether I like it or not, I’m going to die. So what I must do – indeed, what we all must do – is honor our pilgrimage of life; by being continually amazed by this journey, and by doing whatever I can to ease the suffering or add to the joy of every being I meet along the way. In this way I learn new things every single day, all while gently refusing to hoard or even accumulate that knowledge. Because to gather knowledge and hold it tight means to limit one’s ability to learn anew – to fully immerse in the other – to rediscover one’s Self. Certainty becomes the heaviest of burdens on your back. And so I am open to life anew each day – thankful to be a pilgrim on its path; and wanting solely to honor that great and most wondrous of journeys.” ~ inspired by Paulo Coelho
