Day 066d: A close-UP of the Glow … (06/19/2019)
The famous Abbey of Moissac would not allow me to enter (the entry fee was 1 Euro, and I had only none), so I headed over and into the Catholic cathedral next door – which was not only free to the public, but was all aglow with a deeply profound serenity to boot … 🙂
“There exists an understandable loathing of organized religion – the arrogant pomposity of its ‘spiritual leaders’, the cruel callousness with which its various dogma damn the ‘unbelievers’ to eternal torment (or at the very least withdraw all hope of heavenly reward), the massive & violent destruction it had wrought upon millions of innocents over the course of its relatively brief history. That said, far underneath its undeniably prickly & brittle facade rests a majestic glow – a glow that is reflected in the brilliant grandeur of its art & architecture, a glow that emanates peace & solace from its church’s cool walls, a glow that is felt in the heart of every man & woman who remembers what it means to reach out to all strangers with kindness and care for all enemies with grace.” ~ inspired by Alan Gold
