“It is always a Good Thing to gaze regularly upon one’s decided horizon, as doing so allows us to progress smoothly & steadfastly towards our flowing objective. And yet too staunchly fixating upon the ‘up ahead’ obscures the wonder of the ‘all around.’ And so it is that the truly prudent pilgrim ever alternates between the two — gazing in one moment ‘ultreia’ towards his walk’s ultimate goal (the one that resides at and indeed beyond his imminent horizon), and the next intently peering quite deeply into the most minute of wonders that adorn & decorate his current station.” ~ anonymous
