Day 061p: Peace with Patrice … (06/14/2019)
I walked easily enough into the upper outskirts of the city of Figeac, and the Pas si Loin (translation: “not so far away”, or maybe “pretty close to here”) gite was the very first structure I passed. Last night’s pilgrims had already long since left and yet it was still pretty early in the day, so only proprietor Patrice was on hand when I knocked on the door. He answered, heard a highly shortened version of my mission, and then brought me not only the requested glass of water, but also a small bag in which he had placed an apple, a banana, and the leftover bread from last night’s pilgrim meal … :O
