Day 58l: One really nice Guy … (06/11/2019)

Onward and onward I walked on this beautiful day — eventually through the little village of Verrieres, where I was able to powerfully witness to both the ultimate futility of politics and the abject power of the Way of Peace; doing so to not only for a local woman who I had spotted out working in her garden (and from whom I had asked for a glass of water), but also for fellow pilgrim Guy (who happened to amble up to us while we were speaking). Guy was quite a sincerely kind man — one who turned out to be just as amazed by my Walk as anyone else I had encountered, one with whom I bonded quite deeply (despite our mild language barrier), and one with whom I was blessed to walk for several hours thereafter … 🙂

“How shall I remember thee? As a drop of eternal summer, or a blossom of tender spring? As a spark of autumn’s stirring fire, or perhaps as the frost of winter’s longest night? No, it shall not be as any of these, for they are all temporary and shall all come to pass, while the friendship shared by you and I, though we might be parted by sea and earth, will never fade.” ~ via Rebecca Ross
