Day 49s: Open space; open Heart … (06/02/2019)

I flowed thereafter into the center of St. Germain, straight to its Catholic church’s wide-open doors and welcoming ambience. It was here that I not only offered up a heartfelt thanks (to the general goodness of my fellow human brothers & sisters as much as to the subtle support of the ineffable “Divine”) for being allowed to come so close to Le Puy (the city that roughly marked the “1/3-way” point of the entire Stuttgart-to-Chattanooga pilgrimage), but it was also here where I created and left behind a Peace Stone for my dear friends Juergen & Jennifer — two fellow pilgrims who had been especially kind to me since meeting them in Chaumont some 12 days prior, two fellow pilgrims whose pilgrimage would end tomorrow in Le Puy (at least for this particular year), and two fellow pilgrims who I wasn’t sure I would ever see again. So I made them a most special stone and left the same in the St. Germain church next to the pilgrims’ guestbook — a place I was almost certain they would soon visit, and as such a gift I was almost certain they would indeed receive … 🙂
