Day 48l: Where everyone Awaits … (06/01/2019)

“Pilgrims cannot walk smoothly while clinging to preconceived notions of their path’s better speed or proper vector or even ultimate destination. Indeed, to maximize the latent power of their journeying, the pilgrim must be fully free to walk in the exact tempo and specific direction that each individual moment demands … Similarly, non-pilgrims and pilgrims alike should never strive or even hope to change anyone else met along the way. For peace to reign, Love must flourish. And for Love to flourish, the other — all others — must always be allowed to be who they have chosen to become. We are most certainly called — via action much more than word — to inspire those we meet to then choose a nobler road, and yet our primary summons is to Love those others fully whether they ultimately do so or not. This is what it means to live fluidly immersed in The Way, a manner of living where — in the words of Patti Smith — ‘No one is expecting us, and yet everyone awaits.’” ~ anonymous
