Day 47l: Moving ON with Marco … (05/31/2019)

It was at this point that I met up with Marco, a Camino pilgrim who was intent on “tenting” (i.e. carrying his shelter with him; preferring to sleep under the stars rather than under the more comfortable confines of hostels or hotels) his way all the way to Finisterre on the Spanish coast. We were actually blessed to have two conversations on this day, the first as I was blazing past him while we traversed an ascending section of The Way that was rutted and relatively steep, and the second during the ensuing stony descent — with my hips loudly protesting the steepness of the decline, and his legs rejoicing as gravity helped him bounce his much heavier pack along, allowing him to easily overtake me at that point; pausing long enough to exchange a few additional pleasantries and well-wishes, and gift me with my Walk’s very first can of Coca Cola … :O 😀 😉
