Day 35n: Everything we need to Know … (05/19/2019)

Well, despite the afternoon’s wonderful walking, my hips did indeed painfully freeze up again during the day’s final descent into Col de Mt. Sion, and yet their doing so forced me to slow way down and thereby allowed me to be overtaken by day-hikers Peter & Laurianne – a lovely couple who asked where I was heading, listened to my tale, and then proceeded to go way out of their way to find & purchase me a vegan meal at a local hotel … :O

After doing so (and while I was joyfully munching away on a vegetable spread and some fresh French bread) they told the manager/co-owner of the hotel (Heike) my story, which inspired her to come over and sit down with me awhile to hear more about what I was doing and why — which then inspired her to offer me a hotel room for free that same evening … :O 🙂

So that is this day’s tale in full, my Friends — how my Journey flowed in 24 short hours from being my Walk’s most difficult night to one of its many more wonderful days. It is a tale that first reminds us that our most potent acts of Kindness are those given during our lives’ more difficult moments (before we care for ourselves or attempt to mend our own lives — see Geneva) AND secondly it is a tale that reinforces the truth that our times of blessing & abundance are not to be reveled in with gratitude as much as they are to be shared with all others nearby … 😀
