Day 29i: A quietly knowledgeable Kindness … (05/13/2019)
I had arrived into Lausanne — my destination for the day — much earlier than anticipated, and had some “time to kill” (Isn’t “Time to Live” is a far more apt saying?) so I left the church and walked around the surrounding city streets, looking for a place to sit and rest and write and be … It didn’t take long for me to be intuitively drawn to a school of some sort (I never did figure out whether it was a high school or the branch of a local college), and it took me almost as little time thereafter to find the library within the walls of the same. The librarian on duty, Raphelle, wasn’t supposed to allow non-students use the facility at all, and yet after hearing about my pilgrimage — both how it was being walked as well as why I was walking it — she gave me a warm smile and a few complimentary words and then graciously let me sit and write awhile in the quiet confines of her peaceful charge … 🙂
“Walk quickly if you wish, and yet remember to pause frequently and observe Nature’s wonders … Live frugally if you wish, and yet remember to pass along as many gifts as you have to give … Avoid ‘small talk’ if you wish, and yet remember to openly & enthusiastically recognize & embrace the perfection in everyone you meet.” ~ anonymous
