Day 24d: An overflow of Kindness … (05/08/2019)

How wonderful it was that, no sooner than I had given up and assumed that no one would help me in Murten at all, not one but two ladies stepped forth to offer me sustenance and sanctuary. For, no sooner than Jacqueline had set off to find me the help she eventually arranged (see my previous post), Elisabeth (another employee of the same local Catholic Diocese) offered to not only feed me that day but house me that night … 🙂

And here is where a difficult but delightful conundrum was born — namely, whose offer should I accept? Jacqueline was effectively first on the scene, and yet Elisabeth’s tender came with an opportunity to extend some compassion (and maybe even a bit of caring wisdom) to her two young children (Raphael & Laetisia), so to Elisabeth’s house I eventually flowed — sharing good food (vegan, of course) and good fun (a highly amusing card game called Phase 10) and good conversation (mostly about the practical potency of the selfless teachings of Jesus Christ in the Bible, as opposed to the far more condemnatory cousins thereof offered by Paul therein) to boot … 😀

“Be like a lifeboat … a ladder … a leader … a legend.
Choose every moment to help another’s Soul to heal.
Walk out of your house today beaming Love like a lighthouse;
and care for all others by offering kindness like a shepherd.”

~ inspired by Rumi (and Jesus Christ as well)
