Day 24b: Offered a Sacred Sleepover … (05/08/2019)
Head down through the rainy-misty late morning into Murten proper and head straight for the local Catholic church’s administrative offices to see about a possible place to rest my painful legs and possibly even spend the night. I’m met there with gentle kindness, no doubt, and yet also a gentle initial inability to find me a place of solace. And so into the church sanctuary I flow to simply sit and simply Be, and discover while I am there that the space is warm and calm and inviting — a space in which I will try to hide and spend the night if no other refuge is offered* … 🙂
“The true pilgrim’s only guide & deepest creed:
Every sound, the music of the spheres …
Every sight, a rainbow on God’s doorstep …
Every saying, a call for gentle Compassion …
Every step, a verse of reverent prayer.”
