Day 21e: Through the tunnels of Yesteryear … (05/05/2019)
I was pretty beat by the time I reached the town of Tavannes, and yet even though the locals I met there were exceptionally friendly, the town itself was neither very warm nor very welcoming, so I decided to flow roughly 5km onward to the village of Sanceboz — passing through the Roman forged tunnel of Pierre-Pertuis* along the way.
“I am in every moment more accepting of all that IS, and thereby less desirous of experiencing anything other that merely could be … In truth, it is Life itself that brings the change. Thus it is neither my duty nor my obligation to manifest any alteration or betterment, but rather is both my privilege and my honor to simply remain open to being courageously kind while Life does so.” ~ anonymous
*Pierre Pertuis is a natural stone archway located to the north of Tavannes that was both broadened & bulwarked by Marcus Dunius Paternus, a local Roman administrator, during the reign of Marcus Aurelius (sometime between 161 – 180 A.D.)
