You know Lucy, I can actually see how you could believe such a thing, and yet it remains absolutely NOT TRUE nonetheless. We are not calling you bigots, my Friend – we are merely pointing out the simple and easily observable fact that your chosen interpretations of the Scriptures (and your chosen beliefs about the nature God & the personality of Jesus Christ) are indeed bigoted … Similalrly, we are not calling you haters – we are merely pointing out the simple and easily observable fact that your chosen interpretations of the Scriptures are indeed intolerant (i.e. hateful) … And we are most certainly not labeling you as innately arrogant – we are merely pointing out the simple and easily observable fact that your chosen ways of speaking about the Bible and the supposed sins of homosexuals are indeed overflowing with arrogance.
In essence, you & yours are dogmatic Paulinists, Lucy – devout followers of Paul and avid worshippers of his teachings; teachings that are almost exclusively fully at odds with almost everything Jesus Christ stood for, almost everything Jesus taught, and almost everything Jesus enlivened during his ministry. As such, you & yours are indeed modern-day “enemies” of every sincere Follower of The Way of Christ. And yet that does not mean that I enjoy “bashing” you and those who believe like you do – though I will readily admit that it is one of my greatest joys to “bash” the pro-Paul/anti-Jesus message and the unscholarly (often corrupt & patently immoral) dogma that Paulinists like yourself typically proclaim …
Lucy, neither Jesus nor his Father (nor his Way) need my defense or even my assistance in this matter … They have all withstood the very best shots that radical Paulinsim (a.k.a. conservative, fundamentalist, evangelical Christianity) has had to offer over the past two thousand years (+/-) and they still remain just as vibrant and just as pure and just as True as ever.
