Page 146 … true Christianity

“True Christianity is believing that God’s promise to provide a Savior was fulfilled in His Son, Jesus Christ.”

Fair enough, my Friend … This is an accurate reflection of Paul’s establishment of the Christian church; something he did after suffering immense shame & guilt for ruthlessly persecuting the original & true Followers of Jesus Christ – the “Followers of The Way”, of whom St. Stephen was a member (see Acts 7:54-60 & Acts 22:4) …

Essentially, Paul stood by and watched a throng of men stone an innocent man to death – an innocent man (Stephen) who had the courage & the integrity to forgive those men while they were stoning him!

And this act – Stephen’s great deed  of amazing Grace & perfect Love; such a pure reflection of The Way of Jesus Christ – proved to be too much for Paul’s conscience, and he suffered an emotional and a mental collapse on the Road to Damascus shortly thereafter (see Acts 9:1-19) – a breakdown that left him susceptible to the whims & whisperings of his inner darkness, and ultimately led him to develop & propagate a “gospel of Christ” that had nothing at all in common with either the actual Way (or the actual Truth, or the actual Life) of Jesus Christ!
