Page 376 … a Holy Rebellion
“The Bible is the very book that condemns them [I assume you mean homosexuals here? Where does it do that?] for their rebellion against God’s commandments.”
Well, even though this might indeed seem to be true at times, Lucy, the Bible is also the very book that predicts Jesus coming to replace the primitive wickedness & dysfunctional bigotries of the Old Testament judaic law with a new covenant composed of pure, unadulterated, divinely unconditional LOVE (see Jeremiah 31:31-34), and it is also the very book that openly claims that he actually did just that (see Hebrews 8:8-13) … Think about it.
“The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel … not like the covenant that I made with their ancestors … This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall not teach one another or say to each other, “Know the Lord”, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will be merciful towards their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.’ In speaking of ‘a new covenant’, he has made the first one obsolete. And what is obsolete and growing old will soon disappear.” ~ Hebrews 8:8-13 (citing Jeremiah 31:31-34)
“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is just like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets … Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 22:37-40 & Matthew 5:48)
“A new commandment I give to you: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved, so you also are to Love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love for one another … Whoever becomes humble like a little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven … Do not judge others, so that you might also not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you receive in return.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:4 + Matthew 7:1-2 + John 13:34-35)
