You make the initial statement that an “omniscient, omnipotent Being is responsible for your existence. Your continued well-being is totally dependent upon His whim.  Is it not in your best interest to determine what He desires of you, what is acceptable and unacceptable to Him?”

 

Lucy, by offering this particular quote you are not only selling the heavenly Father far short of the divine Love, Forgiveness & Grace that Jesus himself claimed that God exudes, but you are also openly proclaiming your own lack of Faith in that same Greatness!

 

Indeed, when you make God into such a celestial dictator – a being whose wrath & judgment can only be appeased by fearfully & appropriately kissing His divine rear-end, well that is a God that has no understanding of real Love at all!    To believe that God could be so impatient & so callous & so demanding & so downright petty is to make God into your image, not remake ourselves into His.    I mean, I am certainly no saint and even I know more about unconditional Love than that … So how can a God who is truly omniscient & truly omnipotent not comprehemd the nature of perfect LOVE?  And why in the world would anyone want to abandon their own sense of decency and ignore their own innate sense of morality (see John 14:20-26)  just to get on His “good side” and hang out with Him and His dysfunctional, narcissistic ego for all of eternity?

 

Maybe you are right, of course, and maybe us not bowing down to Him the way He wants does piss Him off – and maybe us living in sin does make Him so mad that He does send the vast majority of His children to burn forever in Hell, and yet can’t you see how patently cruel this is?  – and how patently unjust?  – and how patently wicked?  – and even how patently evil?  I mean, even the worst dictators of all time wouldn’t have ever been so cruel & unforgiving.  So why are you worshiping such a God, Lucy?  Why are you trying to convince yourself & others that He is worthy of worship at all?
