Page 543 … The sins of Sodom

“Jesus also spoke of the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah (Luke 17:28-32; Matthew 10:15; Matthew 11:24; Mark 6:11) … [with the] sin that brought about the destruction of those cultures being homosexuality.”

Once again Lucy, as I have already pointed out to you on sooooooo many occasions herein, this statement is biblically FALSE!  Genesis 19 does not show God destroying those cities because of anything to do with homosexuality, but rather shows the Elohim (i.e. the fallen angels who often posed as God in Genesis – also alluded to as “strange flesh” in Jude 1:7) doing so in retaliation for the heterosexual townspeople there having tried to rape two of their own!  … On top of that, the Scriptures clearly state that the destruction of these two cities was actually effectuated in response to the people of Sodom & Gomorrah ignoring the needs of the poor & the downtrodden (see Ezekiel 16:49) …

In essence then, no matter how you look at it, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah had nothing to do with either homosexuals or homosexuality, and thus cannot be used to justify their condemnation … In addition, please consider the following biblical facts related to the verses you cite above:

*Fact:   Luke 17:28-32 actually has Jesus very clearly noting that the fall of Sodom & Gomorrah came about due to rampant manifestations of selfish greed & systemic gluttony.  This harmonizes perfectly with Ezekiel 16:49, a verse that cites the callous rejection of the needs of the poor & the downtrodden as the reason for Sodom & Gommorah’s destruction.

*Fact:   Neither Matthew 10:15 nor Matthew 11:24 make any mention whatsoever as to why Sodom & Gomorrah were destroyed.

*Fact:   Mark 6:11 doesn’t even mention Sodom & Gomorrah at all!
