Page 585 … Dying to sin
“The apostle Paul then [asked], “If you died to sin, then how could you [continue to] live in sin?”
Yes, that is true … Paul did indeed pose that question (see Romans 6:2) … And Jesus Christ made quite clear beforehand what is already clear to every single sinner on Earth (Christian & non-Christian alike); namely, that there is no way for any human being to become fully devoid of sin – namely, that each & every one of us (the saved as well as the lost; the gay as well as the straight) will indeed regularly & repeatedly return to living “in Adam” instead of “in Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:22) – namely, that each & every one of us must die again & again to our sin each & every day of our lives (1 Corinthians 15:31) in order to become repeatedly renewed; repeatedly “born again” in The Way of Christ (John 3:8) – namely, that we will all regularly slip back into the sin of arrogance &/or selfishness periodically for the rest of our lives; and that as such, that it is fully inappropriate for you & yours to criticize the sins of some while remaining in a similar state of perpetually resurfacing sin yourselves!
“Let he who is without sin cast the first stone … Do not judge, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor’s … You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence … First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 8:7 + Matthew 7:1-2 + Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew18:3-4)
