Page 599 … To share with ALL
“Jesus is my blessed redeemer and I am willing to share him with all that accept him as their Lord and Savior.”
Why limit yourself to those of like mind, my Friend? Jesus certainly didn’t! He associated respectfully & humbly with everyone (except hypocrites, of course) – he touched lepers (see Matthew 8:3), he ate with sinners (see Matthew 11:19), he was kind to adulterers (see John 8:1-11), he gave honor to tax collectors (see Luke 19:1-10), and he even socialized with the “heathen” rulers of man (see Matthew 27) … Jesus never discriminated against others and he was always openly Kind to them – even to the homosexual centurion* who came asking to have his same-sex partner healed (see Matthew 8:5-13 & Luke 7:1-10)!!!
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who DOES the will of my Father in Heaven.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21)
“For I have set you an example, that you also should do for others exactly as I have done to you … If you understand these things, blessed are you while you DO them … A new commandment I give to you: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved, so you also are to Love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love for one another.”
~ Jesus Christ (John 13:15-17 + 34-35)
*NOTE: It is very important to realize that the Greek word Pais (Strong’s #3816) used by the centurion in these particular passages was a term commonly used to describe a younger same-sex partner in Jesus’ day. Indeed, the “servant” in question must have been more than a mere attendant, otherwise the far more prevalent Greek terms for that status (Diakoneo, Diakonos or Doulos – Strong’s #1401 … see Matthew 8:9) would have been used to describe him … And indeed, this interpretation is quite reasonable, as the Roman Emperor Augustus had instituted a ban on heterosexual marriage for his serving Roman soldiers during those days – a ban which lasted all the way to 197 A.D. – a ban which probably allowed many same-sex relationships to openly blossom forth within those ranks.
