Page 622 … Guided to Salvation
“The Bible is therefore useful as a guide to salvation through faith in Christ.”
Well, that is indeed an acceptable way to read it, my Friend. Of course, Jesus Christ, on the other hand, would say that adhering to the teachings of the Bible – specifically his teachings – is critical to attaining Salvation through the enlivening of the Christ essence that resides within us all (see John 14:20-26); an enlivening that can only come after we cease arrogantly judging the sins of others, and choose instead to reach out to them with selfless acts of humble Love …
Please consider his words:
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Do not judge, so that you may not be judged … I give you a new commandment: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved you, so you should also Love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love for one another … Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also DO the works that I do and, in fact, will do even greater works than these … And on that day you will know that I am in my Father, and that you are in me, and that I am in you. They who have my commandments and abide in them are those who Love me; and those who Love me will be Loved by my Father.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 7:1-2 + John 13:34-35 + John 14:12 + John 14:20-21)
