Pager 623 … The New Covenant

“The New Testament affirms the inspiration of the Old Testament, including its function of pointing us towards Jesus Christ (Luke 24:44; John 5:46; Acts 10:43)”

Fair enough, my dear.  It does indeed seem as though Jesus was extremely well-versed in Old Testament Scripture (especially the works of Moses & Isaiah), and it does appear that he used that knowledge to guide both his actions and inspire the content of his ministry … And since that is the case, I simply must ask the question again:  If the New Testament truly affirms the inspiration of the Old, then why are you & yours refusing to follow the teachings of that newer Gospel?  Specifically, why are you refusing to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ – especially in regards to how you are publicly dealing with homosexuals?

Again, please hear the Word of God, specifically the words thereof pertaining to Jesus Christ – as well as the words of Jesus Christ himself:

“But Jesus has now obtained a more excellent ministry, and to that degree he is the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted through better promises.  For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no need to look for a second one.  God finds fault with them when he says: ‘The days are surely coming, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; not like the covenant that I made with their ancestors … And this is the covenant that I will make with [them]: I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God …  And they shall not teach one another or say to each other, “Know the Lord”, for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.  For I will be merciful towards their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.’ In so speaking of ‘a new covenant’, He has made the first one obsolete. And what is obsolete and growing old will soon disappear.” ~ Hebrews 8:6-13

Let [she] who is without sin cast the first stoneDo not judge, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor’s … You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence … First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom” ~ Jesus Christ (John 8:7 + Matthew 7:1-2 + Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew 18:3-4)
