Page 643 … transforming lives & minds
“A genuine faith in Christ as Lord and Savior transforms our lives and minds.”
Frankly, I would be remiss to say otherwise. Indeed, not a single one of us – myself certainly included – can tell anyone else how (or whether) to believe in God, how (or whether) to read the Bible, or how (or whether) to honor Jesus Christ. And it is just as certainly not necessary for anyone (you & yours most certainly included) to denigrate or condemn or in any way openly criticize the sins of others in order to show a “genuine faith in Christ”!
In fact, it is far more likely the case that the exact opposite is True – that the best way to show a “genuine faith” in Jesus is to place his teachings ahead of those found in the Old Testament (see Hebrews 8:6-13), and his teachings ahead of those found in the writings of Paul (see John 1:17 & 1 Corinthians 3:11), and his teachings ahead of the blasphemies spouted by the fallen “Angel of the Lord” in the book of Revelation (see 1 John 2:6 & 2 John 1:9).
“You abandon the commandment of God and hold to human tradition … But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.” ~ Jesus Christ (Mark 7:8 + Matthew 12:7)
“Whoever says, ‘I have come to know him,’ but does not obey HIS commandments, is a liar, and in such a person the truth does not exist … Whoever says ‘I abide in him’ must live as he lived.” ~ 1 John 2:4-6
“If you truly Love me, you will keep MY commandments … You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is just like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets … I now give you a new Commandment: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved you, so you should also show one another Love. Indeed, by this everyone will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love for one another.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 14:15 + Matthew 22:37-40 + John 13.34-35)
“Everyone who does not abide in the teaching of Christ, but goes beyond it, does not have God; whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” ~ 2 John 1:9
