Page 644 … Faith in the Father

Next you state that, “the result [of such a genuine faith is] that our lives are brought progressively into greater submission to the will of God.”

Well, to this I would also wholeheartedly agree, as long as the Will of God to which we are submitting is the all-Loving & all-Merciful will of Jesus’ heavenly Father (see Matthew 5:48 + 1 John 4:18 + Luke 6:36 + Matthew 18:21-22 + John 5:22 et al), and NOT the less-than-Loving & less-than-merciful will of the god (actually, more often than not the Elohim; the fallen angels posing as God) so often portrayed in the Old Testament (see Isaiah 26:21, Ezekiel 25:17, Nahum 1:2-6 et al) – and sometimes even mentioned in the New (see Romans 1:18, Hebrews 10:26-31, 2 Peter 2:9).

“I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me [i.e. his teachings], and [therefore] I in them, bear much fruit, because apart from me [i.e. his way] you can do nothing … If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 15:5-7)

“[And Jesus said] ‘Whoever is from God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not from God.’ And the Jews answered him, saying, ‘Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?’  And Jesus answered, ‘I do not have a demon; but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.’”  ~ John 8:47-49

Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.  You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?  In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.  A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  Thus you will know them by their fruits.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:15-20)
