“The devil himself masquerades as an angel of light.  Satan wants everyone to live for him” and thereafter ask, “How many people have been saved in your church, Scaughdt?”

 

Well Dan, just like Jesus Christ, I don’t have a church (though I did spend a wonderful summer praying every day underneath the tree pictured below – the holiest “church” I have ever attended).  And just like Jesus, I don’t go around trying to “save people” – which is ironically exactly the kind of arrogance & exactly the kind of hypocrisy that Satan wants us to exude!

 

As I have pointed out already, both Testaments & Jesus himself all make it quite clear that Salvation is ultimately solely between each person and the Father, not me or you or anyone else – that we are not to go around trying to pull the motes (or even the beams) out of other people’s eyes, especially when we have motes & beams in our own.  All we can do is show them The Way to that Salvation (The Way of Jesus Christ) and then hug them (literally or spiritually) and keep on Loving them while they either reject that path or leap boldly upon it.

 

“You hypocrite, take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck of sawdust from your brother’s eye…. How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own? … Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in Heaven … Those who Love me will keep my word, and my Father will Love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them … And this is my Commandment: that you Love one another just as I have Loved you … Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I tell you?”” ~ Jesus Christ (Luke 6:41-42 + Matthew 7:21 + John 14:23 + John 15:12 + Like 6:46)
