Page 827 … Not of this world

“Jesus is not from this world. He is from above” … This might indeed be the case, of course, though it would be both wise & respectful for us to see what the Bible itself has to say on the matter, yes?

*First of all, Jesus himself repeatedly & loudly denied any and all claims to his own divinity – desiring no worship for himself, and giving all the glory to his heavenly Father (see Mark 10:18, John 5:41, John 7:16, John 8:50-54, John 12:44 et al) …

*Secondly, the Bible denies Jesus’ divinity as well – repeatedly noting that though Jesus was indeed an incredibly heroic & most noble man (an almost perfect manifestation of the “Son of God” which resides within us all; see John 14:20-26, 1 Corinthians 3:16 & 1 John 4:12-16), a man he was nonetheless (see Acts 2:22, 1 John 4:2, 2 John 1:7, Luke 2:7, John 4:6, John 19:28, Matthew 4:2, Matthew 4:11, Luke 23:26, Luke 24:39, John 20:20, Matthew 8:10, John 11:33-35, John 13:21, Hebrews 5:7, Luke 2:52, Mark 13:32, Matthew 26:39, 1 Timothy 2:5) …

*Thirdly & finally (and for Jesus most importantly), each & every one of us is potentially just as much “from above” as he was – potentially; meaning that we can all walk his Way, and that we can all Love his Love, and that we can all thereby again become Children of God ourselves (see John 14:20, John 10:34, John 15:26 et al) – if we have the humility to put down our condemnations of others (see Matthew 7:1-5 + Matthew 18:3-4 et al) and then if we have the courage to reach out to Care for them instead (see Matthew 5:44-48 + John 13:34-35 et al).

“If I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.  For I have set you an example, that you also should do for others as I have done for you … Truly I tell you, just as you do for one of the least of those who are members of my family, so too you do it for me.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 13:14-15 + Matthew 25:40)
