Bart:   Scaughdt, if you are not walking in Spirit then you have no sense of the real direction of the Word of God.  If you are walking in the flesh the Word will become flesh to you.  If you have the wisdom from the Word you will come to know the difference and the true meaning of perfect and pure Love.

 

Scaughdt:  YES, Bart! That is exactly what I have been saying the entire time in this thread!

Indeed, until I started actually living the words of Jesus in the Gospels (which I have been radically doing now for the past eleven+ years of my life), those words were mere thoughts; hollow concepts that I couldn’t fully understand … And yet once I made them my entire life – once I started going forth each day simply to LOVE others; setting aside everything I thought I knew & every judgment I wanted to make about them and simply serving the angry & the depressed & the downtrodden folks around me in whatever ways I could – it all became so clear.  For that is what it means to truly “Walk in Spirit” …

 

And for any of us to fully understand the magnitude & the brilliance of The Way that Jesus came to offer; for anyone to fully comprehend the wondrous depths of Beauty & Wisdom that reside in the Scriptures, his teachings must become just that – a WALK; an actual enlivening thereof; a full embodiment of everything he offered us in the Gospels!

 

And once his teachings on perfect LOVE are fully enlivened with both humility & courage, then – and only then – will the Scriptures open themselves up to us like the most perfect flower … Only then will all therein that is judgmental and primitive and cold and heartless fall away like water from the back of a swan, allowing everything that is Caring and Kind and Warm and Wonderful to come blossoming to the fore … It really is amazing … You might want to give it a try the next time you are confronted with the temptation to criticize homosexuals or condemn homosexuality!
