Page 874 … judging Judgment

“All of us make judgments, Scaughdt … Some of them are good and some are bad.  Some of them are right and some are wrong … We make judgments if someone is driving too slow … We decide which Facebook posts to comment on and which to leave alone.”

Yes, my Friend, this is quite true.  And, if those judgments serve to CONDEMN others – either for who they ARE (e.g. as a homosexual) or for actions they are taking that have no innocent victims (e.g. choosing to engage in consensual homosexual sex), then those judgments quite clearly express exactly the arrogant mentality that Jesus so vehemently denounces throughout his ministry (see Matthew 18:3-4 & Matthew 23:12 et al) & exactly the bigoted beliefs that he so definitively rejects in the Scriptures! (see Luke 6:36 & Matthew 5:39-48 et al)

Dan, how in the world can you seriously hope to squirm out of the very clear meaning of the verses that follow?  More importantly, why in the world would you ever want to do so?!?!?
“Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor’s … You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence … First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the KingdomDo not judge, so that you might not be judged … Let he who is fully without sin cast the first stone.” ~ Jesus (Matthew 7:3-5, Matthew 23:25-26, Matthew18:3-4, Matthew 7:1-2 & John 8:7)
