Page 972 … What the Word allows
“The Word of God does not make allowances for any sins or excuses.”
I happen to agree with this claim as well, my Friend – to a certain degree; the degree that says that the Word of God (and the Will of God – and even God Himself) revolves around and champions a Love that is pure & perfect & without any condition or limitation whatsoever. If this is indeed the case (as Jesus himself claimed it was & is – Matthew 5:48), then there is indeed no “allowance” for selfish sins in such a spiritual realm, and there can be no excuses that could ever hope to justify the same. That having been said, this theology also quite obviously cannot support our criticism of others’ sins, or even believe in the condemnation thereof by God Himself. For you see, if God’s love is truly perfect & without end, then He cannot judge others (see John 5:22) – and if He as such cannot do anything but forgive us our misdeeds & failings (see Matthew 18:21-22 + Luke 6:36), then we are most certainly not to do so either! (see Matthew 7:1-5 & Matthew 23:25-26 & John 8:7 et al)
And it is for these reasons that I am inspired again to wonder, my Friend – what is your excuse? What is your excuse for arrogantly believing that you & yours alone possess the correct interpretation of the Scriptures – much less for the raw hubris required to claim the right to judge the behaviors of others to be sinful? (see Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 23:12) … And what is your excuse for hypocritically judging the sins of homosexuals while you yourself are still steeped in sin? (see Matthew 23:25.26 + John 8:7) … And what is your excuse for unfairly (and incorrectly) singling out homosexuals and homosexuality in general for your bigoted criticisms, while ignoring or excusing other primarily heterosexual sins that are equally abominable and even far more prevalent? (see John 7:24 + John 13:34-35 + Matthew 25:40 et al)
Yes, the Word of God is alive & active, and thus can be seemingly bent to one’s own designs and purposes. And yet if those designs & purposes are not in harmony with the all-Loving will of the heavenly Father, then I humbly wonder: What is the point?
“Oh, how foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have declared! … If you truly Love me, you will keep my commandments … I now give you a new Commandment: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved you, so you should also show one another Love. Indeed, by this everyone will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love for one another … Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect.” ~ Jesus Christ (Luke 24:25 + John 14:15 + John 13:34-35 + Matthew 5:48)
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in Heaven … Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I tell you? … If you continue in my Word [i.e. the application of my teachings], then you are truly my disciples; and you will thereby know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21 + Luke 6:46 + John 8:31-32)
