Myth #67: “But humans created domestic breeds in the 1st place.”

Do you actually believe that purposefully breeding an animal makes it a slave to its breeder as soon as it is born? Do you actually believe that the many years of forced enslavement and manipulated breeding of unwilling animals means that the present-day offspring of those arrogant misdeeds are rightfully subject to imprisonment, pain, suffering and murder? … Fair enough … But if this patently immoral “rule of law” applies to our cows and our pigs and our sheep and our chickens, then it must equally apply to our dogs and our cats and our horses and our hamsters — and even to our own children as well.

Of course, it is hopefully now clear how absurd this myth is. Our ancestors “creating” modern-day cows and pigs and sheep and chickens centuries ago via selective breeding did not give them the right to torture or abuse or murder those animals then — and similarly, it most certainly does not give us the right to imprison, abuse and murder the currently living members of those species today.

Current status of this Myth: Redacted
