Misleading Myth #17 … “But I need dairy products for my calcium” (07/21/14)
I realize this is an extremely popular myth, and yet a myth it remains. In fact, animal proteins — in red meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy products; you name it — tend to leach calcium AWAY from human bones and encourages it to pass OUT of the body through one’s urine. Plant proteins, on the other hand, do not have this effect.
Quite a number of studies have shown this to be true — one of them, performed at and published by the University of California, showed that older women with a high intake of animal, rather than vegetable, proteins have a significantly higher risk for hip fractures than those in a control group. Indeed, even the USDA admitted recently that the nutrition claims of the famous “milk mustache” ads are completely false — that milk consumption does NOT improve athletic performance in any way, and that milk consumption DOES cause digestive difficulties and decrease bone strength.
So keep in mind, my Friends, milk (or cheese, or yogurt, or sour cream etc) does NOT “do the body good”. Just keep in mind that the best way to care for your own health as well as the health of those you Love (not to mention the animals) is to drop animal dairy from your diet and replace it with healthy alternatives.
Keep it in mind … by keeping milk products out of your body.
“For every single drop of cow or goat or sheep milk that humans drink, some desperate mother pleaded to keep her infant, some baby cried helplessly to stay with her mother … and nobody listened.” ~ anonymous
