Farewell Oregon! … (08/20/09)

This past week in Oregon with members of my family has been an especially blessed one, if for no other reason than I was able to visit with my son again.  He is now 10.5 years old and already has developed into a fine young man.  Though things “didn’t work out” for us to live in a more traditional father-son setting, I have no regrets — humbly looking at his health and his happiness in Germany as proof that much good has come from those difficult trials of yesteryear.  And that we still have regular contact with one another (via post, email & phone) and can occasionally visit together like we did this past week is a blessing beyond compare …

I was also blessed to be amongst many of my other family members as well, people for whom I have the utmost respect.  There is nothing more difficult to do than to unconditionally support a friend or a family member who chooses to follow an unusual (some would even say a detrimental) Life-Path.  And yet, even though most if not all of my own family members surely do not truly comprehend the whys and the hows of my own unusual Life-Path, they continue to give me their unconditional kindness (and from some, their unconditional support as well).  And for this as well I am thankful …

And finally, I was blessed to be able to immerse myself in the natural wonders of southern Oregon, both the “rugged opulence” of Double Tree Ranch in the town of Merlin, as well as the sheer magnificence of the Pacific NW coastline near the town of Gold Beach.  We were able to explore the tide pools of the coast, swim in the perfectly azure waters of Crater Lake and walk humbly amongst the giant Redwoods — It was a truly awe-inspiring week of Love & adventure that has refreshed my resolve to go forth as an agent of Peace into this wonderful world in which we live …
