2021 … Melding with the Mold
As a general rule, if no one in the current generation happens to be interested in anything I might have to say, and if the conditions of sustained solitude have not been provided in which I can write for generations next, then I am in principle summoned to keep walking the world’s roadways as a Peace Pilgrim. Of course, if circumstances also prevent said walking (I couldn’t in good conscience set forth as a potential Covid super-spreader until the science showed – as it eventually did – that doing so would not endanger others), then I am simply to serve selflessly any & all who happen to be in need at that time – a general guideline that had me hand-excavating over 17 tons of mold-infested dirt from under a dear Friend’s home during much of 2021 …
“When selfless service replaces all selfish striving, the power of the Divine brings to pass Its will … In truth, anybody who crosses themselves out in Love for others, becomes a living Christ. Anybody who wipes themselves out in Service to others, becomes a living Buddha. Anybody who lays themselves down to lift others up, becomes the epitome of the Soul absolute. And that, my friend, is Religion 101 – and Theology 101 – and, far above all, Life 101.” ~ via Thomas Monson & Abhijit Naskar
