2012 … A final, filial Farewell
It was just a few days later of that same year that I received the news that my dear brother Todd had indeed passed away in the wilds near Silver City, New Mexico; a happening that inspired me to write “A Tribute to Todd” and “Licking the Razor’s Edge” (the first two of what would be many books to follow) – both in his honor (and both available for perusal &/or free download via the Writings page of my website) …
“It is almost inevitable that you will lose someone dear to you, and that your heart will be badly broken as a result. The bad news is that we never completely get over the loss of these beloveds, and yet this is also the good news. For not getting over their departure means that they live forever in a heart that doesn’t fully seal back up; that it is precisely these permanent cracks that allow the real you to shine through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly — a leg that still hurts when the weather gets cold, and yet you learn to incorporate its limp into the dance.” ~ inspired by Anne Lamott
