2009 … Smoothly carving the Winter

I also learned to ski while living in Park City, and – after getting over the frustration of not being able to stand up and then transcending my fear of (still to this day) not being able to properly steer – I actually did end up enjoying a few days of flowing smoothly (if not very slowly) down the mountain. That said, and while did come to comprehend why so many folks get so much pleasure from this particular activity, in the end I couldn’t see how I could ever use this particular activity to truly serve anyone else in any true need, so I abandoned the same for acts that were far more Caring & far more Courageous & far more Communal (and thereby, at least fir me, far more pleasurable) …

“It is better to go skiing and think of the Divine, than go to church and think of sport.” ~ Fridtjof Nansen
