Nov 2003 to Oct 2005 … Alive where I was Living

While walking to my bell-ringing post on the first day of my first Big Island job (I had vowed to only accept part-time employment while on “The Rock”, and to only accept said employment when the jobs found me, no the other way around. The Salvation Army was the first employer to come calling in like vein, asking me to be a bell-ringer for them that holiday season), I flowed past what was to become my true “Home away from home.” Indeed, if I were to be forced to name one place on the Big Island that counted as “mine”, I would to this day claim Borders Bookstore in Kailua- Kona to be that place. Now abandoned (Borders went bankrupt back in 2011), I spent on average about ten hours per day “living” in this store; “setting up shop” there almost every single day during all of 2004 & almost all of 2005 …
