1998 … A pair of Silbury sunrises
This is Silbury Hill (a short walk’s distance from Avebury, England), where a purposefully constructed ridge near its summit makes it possible to see two sunrises on a single morning every Spring Equinox (by simply viewing the first sunrise from its apex, and then sliding down the hill to the aforementioned ledge to view the same sunrise again a few minutes later) …
“An architect should live as little in cities as a painter. Send him to our hills, and let him study there what nature understands by a buttress, and what by a dome.” ~ John Ruskin
