Day 149a: Ever ready to LIVE … (September 25, 2019)

How wonderful it was to be blessed with even just a few miles of smooth sidewalk on this, what would turn out to be the very last morning of my Journey …

And as I walked I wondered – were they, my fellow humans; mostly hustling and bustling about their busy, mostly self-absorbed lives – were they in this moment truly unaware of their life’s innate & ineffable majesty? Or were they somehow like I had finally become – invulnerable to, and thus untouched by, all life’s apparent banalities and uglinesses? Had they, like me, chosen to glance – even if but for a moment – into that deeper something, that grander effervescence ever concealed just beneath life’s surface: namely, the presence – at all times and in all people & places – of an amazingly vast and gloriously beautiful world? … If you too can see it all as I have chosen to see it, then you too will know that if you aren’t ready to appreciate the life you have been given, you won’t be able to choose to fully live that life by offering yourself up for a greater purpose. And indeed, if you aren’t yet fully willing to die for such a cause greater, then you haven’t yet even begun to truly live.” ~ inspired by Sally Rooney & Abhijit Naskar

Those who do not feel this greater Love pulling them like a river; those who do not drink of each dawn like a cup of spring water or take in every sunset like a succulent supper; for those who do not wish to change and awaken, caress them lightly & briefly, and then let them sleep … And then go forth otherwise – be not like them in their dreary ways. Be Source instead. Be the result of a life lived well, not the bland & hollow effect of a life less-lived.” ~ via Rumi
