2001 – 2003 Germany … (04/01/08)

During these last two years of my ten-year stint living in Stuttgart (Germany), I began actively experimenting with “Archetypal Awareness” — essentially learning to access the greater intuitive knowledge at our disposal.

I did so by first familiarizing myself with the essential meanings of hundreds of archetypal meanings — numbers, colors, directions, trees, flowers, animals and birds.  Thereafter I would regularly go for long walks into the woods near my home, each time entering the forest, coming to a state of inner calm, asking myself certain questions, and then paying attention to where I involuntarily glanced both during and immediately after the asking.  The combined meanings of the images I glanced upon invariably provided me with insightful (in-Sight-full) information that always answered my queries in a specific manner.

After the initial shock of this re-discovery wore off, it made complete sense.  After all, we all subconsciously process thousands of bits of information per second, and yet are only consciously aware of one or two of those stimuli.  As a consequence, we must use tools other than “rational” ones to access the rest of this information that our brain has subconsciously processed … Essentially, this method of interactive communication with my environment has been a very useful tool for me ever since.

I experimented with and incorporated this principle in every facet of my life during these two years, from gaining guidance from “God” in the woods to painting archetypal symbols on the walls of my apartment — symbols that continually reminded me to act in harmony with my selflessly caring Self , as opposed to in alignment with the desires of my more primitively self-centered ego.

It was also during these years that I became a Feng Shui practitioner and a Labyrinth builder — helping friends to re-align their homes in ways that furthered their Peace-of-Mind, while occasionally traveling throughout Europe to build labyrinths for various communities … Both of these activities further honed the awareness of my Interconnection with both the other people around me and the Earth in general.
