Day 137j: Inspired by the Inspired … (September 13, 2019)
I then walked serenely ever onward – through the small township of Rural Retreat, past the Fulton United Methodist Church and then, as the Sun was beautifully setting on yet another Beauty-full day, finally into the tiny hamlet of Groseclose, where trucker Remy was more than well-met in a local convenience store – inspired as he was to smilingly buy me a bottle of Gatorade Frost and wish me more than well after hearing about my Walk’s selflessly caring Way …
“If we stretch ourselves to open our minds and thereafter our hearts, to see our shared humanity with others and then act accordingly, we allow ourselves to see the innate existence of real Community and the omnipresent opportunities for radical Generosity all around us – even in the most unexpected places; even in the least opportune of moments … So let us – no matter the time or place or station – accept each other fully & completely. Let us Love one another – even if it is messy, even if it is inconvenient, even if it is scary. Let us live with no regrets, and ever remember that diversity – whenever it is soaked in caring kindness – that is our greatest strength. We shouldn’t be building walls of safety and protection and prudence, my friends. We should be tearing the same all down. Accept each other without reserving and care for one another recklessly – do so no matter what they are doing or to whom they pray or how they look or where they are headed.” ~ inspired by Sharon Salzberg & Johnny Corn
