Day 137a: The calm of LOVE in the Middle … (September 13, 2019)

And once more I am back out onto The Way, with a deep-seated calmness within and cool overcast skies above combining to allow for some fantastically smooth walking this morning …

Newton’s work on gravity led to the discovery of the Lagrange Point, the place where opposing forces push or pull against one another in perfect equilibrium, and as such the point where any bodies residing therein come to a state of relative rest. And this point can be known psychologically as well; the point where the all the forces in one’s life – those that tempt one to act selfishly for comfort or convenience or personal empowerment, and those that inspire one to flow selflessly into deeds of love and caring and service – merge and attain balance; a state of emotional equilibrium that allows one to make smoother & more conscious choices; choices that clearly bear the better Fruits of peace and harmony and joy; choices that are in alignment with the latter, selfless inclinations of the conscience. And this internal Lagrange Point can only be known in the moment – in the ever-cascading Here and Now; the without history or future; the point without worry or regret … Activity and rest are two vital aspects of life. To find a balance in them is a skill in itself. Of course, real Wisdom knows that this balance is not a quantitative equality between the two – not found in choosing to rest as much as one acts, for example. No, real Wisdom finds the two in each other – meaningful activity in rest and meaningful calm in activity. This is the ultimate freedom. This is The Way.” ~ inspired by Nick Harkaway & Ravi Shankar
