Day 129g: Riding the River of Life … (September 05, 2019)

Mindfulness & meditation can indeed help us to focus on the moment while simultaneously knowing that we cannot capture that moment, knowing that we are simply in a flow of the moments we let flow. That said, while it might be marginally useful to learn to watch moments in detail without being attached to them, this practice cannot and should not ever be an end in & of itself. For if we are solely concerned with recognizing or accepting or appreciating or being in any particular moment, we will inevitably miss the greatest gift that moment has to offer – namely: what we can DO for others in the same. Yes, regrets about our past or worries about the future are wasted energy and they do always castrate our Here&Now. And yet ‘observing the past’ & ‘learning from it’ or ‘seeing the future’ and ‘letting it all go’ mean absolutely nothing if we don’t enter the present moment and use the lessons from our past and serenity from our detachment to better and more potently serve any & all nearby. This and this alone is how we can ‘circulate love with every breath’ – with bold actions, never merely our words or our thoughts or our feelings. So go within to calm the restless mind, for sure, and yet then return swiftly hereafter into your caring loving Higher Self. Become fully immersed in a cloak of Oneness, and be readily kind to all who cross your path … In truth, if you become a river through life then nothing else is needed. This is how we can ‘achieve inaction through action, and effortlessness through effort.’ But always let the doing come first; ever err on the side of moving. First comes the effort, the action. It will melt your ego swiftly, and then the River of Life’s Love will flow freely again.” ~ inspired by Jay Woodman & Osho
