Day 124j: When HOME is where the Here is … (August 31, 2019)
I eventually made it into the outskirts of Haymarket, where the public library – as expected – was already closed. And yet there was somehow not even a tinge of disappointment as I peered through its locked doors into its empty halls (and it was quite the inviting library to boot – modern and clean and cozy). No, instead of feeling down about not being able to rest within its lovely confines, I simply made my way behind its walls to an employee picnic table out back, and made the same a brief-yet-equally appreciated homestead …
“Perhaps home is not a place but simply an irrevocable & ever-accessible condition … Perhaps HOME is people, not a place; an attitude, not an arrival.” ~ inspired by James Baldwin & Robin Hobb
