Day 124g: Ever deeper into the day’s hazy Glare … (August 31, 2019)

In the midst of shadow and glare and pain and fear the light of the Divine ever leads the way. That light is always shining, and it is in all times of suffering that we need to focus on that light … Remember that the lotus is a most beautiful flower, whose petals open one by one, and yet it is a flower that will only bloom in the mud. Similarly, in order to grow and gain wisdom, first you must have the mud — the obstacles in your way and the sufferings that they bring … Whether we have it all or we have nothing, we are each faced with the same steady stream of obstacles: sadness, pain, loss, illness, dying and then death. If we are to strive as human beings to gain more wisdom, more kindness and more compassion, we must have the intention to grow through the mud as a lotus and open each of our petals steadily one by one … So do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break. and all things will be mended. Not with time, as so many say, but rather with humble intention and persistent effort. So go. Love intentionally, love extravagantly, love unconditionally, love recklessly. The broken world waits in darkness for the light that is ever You.” ~ inspired by Diane Walker, Goldie Hawn & L. R. Knost
