Tightening your Touch (February 27th) …

February 27Tightening your Touch: Wear gloves all day today to see how it feels to Live with a dampened sense of touch … Every hour, take off your gloves for five (5) minutes and focus on your renewed sense, consciously touching as many different types of surfaces as you can in your immediate environment … Remember how to touch things around you as if for the first time.

Because we are hard-wired to rely so heavily on our sense of sight, the other sense tend to often get “lost in the shuffle”. And so it is with the sense of touch …

We learn from an early age that pain is to be avoided, and so we protect ourselves from it –

… which inspires us to “protect” ourselves in interactions with others.

We expend vast amounts of energy trying to “touch” God in “Heaven above” –

… which leads us to become disconnected with those of flesh & blood right next to us.

We are taught to stay “clean” –

… and forget our connection with the Earth.

We are taught to defend ourselves from our enemies –

… and forget that we are ALL one family.

We have lost track of what it means to really FEEL our surroundings, and as such we have become disconnected from our Souls …

Well, it is time to reawaken our ability to FEEL –

… to remember that we were once literally One with everything around us;

… that our sense of touch is incredibly perceptive;

… and that it is incredibly powerful.

Now is not the time to touch things half-way.

Now is the time to let our fears of intimacy fall away – to awaken to interactions grounded in humble curiosity;

… to awaken to interactions grounded in loving reverence;

… and to awaken to interactions grounded in gentle kindness.

Each one of us possesses a great power – a power that can indeed change things for the better. And yet in order for this power to awaken, we must have the courage to intimately engage our surroundings – we must have the courage to FEEL again.

We must choose to lovingly FEEL things inanimate;

… we must choose to lovingly FEEL Nature;

… and we must choose to lovingly FEE other sentient beings.

And it all starts by remembering how it feels to really FEEL!

See You when I see you …

and until then, Be Now!
