I remember walking strong and smoothly that morning – easily keeping up with my compatriots (Stephane, Thierry, and Celine) on the walk’s initial downhill portion, fluidly pulling away as the Road flattened out and allowed my legs to easily move. I pulled into the church at Arzacq-Arraziguet alone and reveled quietly in its inner solace. Stephane arrived shortly thereafter and shared the solemn space with me …
