Day 072j: Donning the Armor of Peace … (June 25, 2019)
I paused just before the town of Miramont to powerfully witness my Walk’s Way to a sweet French couple (chatting about virtue and politics and service and kindness while sitting together in their lovely garden), and then headed into the town proper, where I stopped inside the local church to once more refresh my Gratitude and once again re-affirm my Resolve. Somewhat atypically, I remained inside this particular sanctuary for almost a full hour – prayditating* and writing and airing out my aching feet – before heading back out into the day’s sweltering brightness …
“The work of any apostle, from the first ones sent out by Jesus to anyone before or afterward who is earnestly aligned with the Reign of Peace, is to literally become God’s loving Word. Echoing the Word – in action more than speech, these are the ones who set out to directly confront the powers and principalities of man – by rejecting all state-sponsored violence and individual aggression; donning instead the Armor of Peace and bearing instead the Sword of Compassion.” ~ inspired by C. Andre Doyle
*This is what I call my own mixture of praying and meditating; neither of which I perform regularly or in any way typically, and yet both of which I – in my own way – sincerely engage and humbly honor.
